In more detail, the areas of responsibility include:
Lead and manage actuarial consulting engagements for life insurance clients across Africa.
Oversee IFRS 17 implementation projects, capital modeling, and actuarial valuation work.
Provide technical actuarial expertise on finance transformation projects.
Support clients in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions by performing actuarial due diligence.
Assist insurers with risk and capital management, regulatory compliance, and pricing strategies.
Provide actuarial support for audit engagements, working closely with auditors to validate actuarial models and assumptions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
Supervise and mentor junior actuarial staff, fostering professional growth and technical development.
Contribute to business development efforts by assisting with proposals, marketing activities, and thought leadership initiatives.

Experience and personal qualities
Experience:Over 8 years of actuarial experience in life insurance, with exposure to consulting.
Qualifications:part qualified / fully qualified actuary. Being a fully qualified actuary is not mandatory, but candidates must demonstrate strong actuarial expertise and technical knowledge.
Technical Skills:In-depth understanding of IFRS 17, Solvency regulations, capital modelling, reserving, and risk management.
Consulting Experience:Prior experience in an actuarial consulting environment is highly preferred.
Project Management:Proven ability to lead and manage multiple actuarial projects simultaneously.
Communication Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex actuarial concepts to clients and stakeholders.
Leadership & Mentorship:Experience in leading teams and mentoring junior actuarial staff.
Business Acumen:Ability to understand client needs, develop strategic solutions, and contribute to business development efforts.
