About the role
The Block Making Operator will operate, maintain, and optimize the block making machine in compliance with production targets, quality standards, and workplace safety practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate the block making machine to meet daily production targets.
Prepare and load correct raw material mixes (cement, sand, aggregates).
Monitor product quality and make real-time machine adjustments.
Conduct visual inspections of finished blocks for quality and consistency.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in line with 5S practices.
Perform routine machine maintenance and assist in preventive maintenance.
Collaborate with team members in production, maintenance, and logistics.
Document production data, machine settings, maintenance, and deviations.
Qualifications
KCSE Certificate or equivalent required.
1–2 years' hands-on experience in a construction or industrial production environment, preferably operating a block making machine or related heavy equipment.
Solid understanding of concrete material properties, mixing ratios, and construction site safety practices.
Proven ability to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot industrial machinery under dynamic work conditions.
Familiarity with 5S workplace organization, production tracking, and quality assurance protocols.
Basic skills in autonomous and preventive maintenance (AM/PM).
High attention to detail, with a focus on consistency and durability of output.
Strong physical stamina, ability to work in hot, dusty environments, and a commitment to safety.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially within construction crews or manufacturing teams.
