We are looking to employ a driven and detail-oriented Business Development Officer to identify business growth opportunities and develop strategies to increase company sales.

Responsibilities

Prospecting/Lead Generation: Responsible for finding new leads, setting meetings, introducing BURN, and closing sales deals. We are looking for a real hunter, an aggressive sales person, who is chasing down leads and closing deals 24/7.

Sales: Pitch, negotiate, and close outside sales deals. Perform demos, where possible. Carryout mini-stakeholder events in community such as re-training, cooking events etc.

Establish strong distribution channels linkages to farmers: Source potential distribution and sales points (PRIVATE FIRMS/NGOs/CBOs /churches/women groups/ SACCO)

Account Management: Be the primary contact person on your accounts, regularly meet with clients to strengthen relationships, introduce new products, grow clients monthly sales.

Community Engagement - Strictly follow the customer screening and registration process. Make sure customers are mainly using woods for cooking and our stove for the majority of their meals daily. Educate end-users on stove usage and importance of signing their Carbon rights away to us. Identify future community needs hence future project opportunities within their communities. Educate the communities on the benefits of our cook-stove and consequently assure high-level usage.

Measurement & Analysis: Consistently track sales performance, measure and analyze your monthly sales projections versus actual sales, perform ROI analysis, use data to determine sales strategy. Reach the given 25 stoves a day sales target per activator for your leads.

Professional Development: Attend training and meetings in BURN office as requested. Develop a Sales Strategy and personal Business Plan.

Perform other duties as requested by your Sales Manager, or any of the management team

Skills & Requirements:
College Degree

An extensive list of business contacts within Kenya to sell jikokoa.

Previous experience in outside sales, especially selling wholesale consumer durable goods.

Previous experience with sales projections and meeting sales goals.

High energy, positive, willing to close deals 24/7 at the office, in a coffee shop, or in a matatu.
