Job description
SUB SAHARAN AFRICA WORKING GROUP:
- Lead the cross functional working group on Sub Saharan Africa, follow-up of the key objectives, regular communication on the progress made within the functions involved and to management
MANAGEMENT :
- Manage the team : organize team work & planning, set up & follow up objectives, organize team & individual meetings, develop the skills of the team, recruitment and onboarding process, support and coach the team, identify and develop talents.
- Manage by influence in PSC, support the main stakeholders of the joint venture, connect with the other Bus and visit them regularly, understand their needs and concerns, suggest improvement, trainings and new ways of working.
- Provide training to the Vegetable Seed Team of the joint venture, assist in product development
- Partner with internal support services to develop the team and the sales activities - Legal, HR, Communication, Finance.
- Represents her/his region actively within the organization.
- Manage the operating budget for expenses of the different HMC teams (Sales, Product Development and/or Customer Service)
- Follow up the PSC budget and act through the board if actions are needed.
- HEALTH & SAFETY : Set and enforce the rules within her/his team
- QA : Understand an executes Quality Management by actively participating in creation a QM structure to develop cross functionals continuous improvement
CUSTOMER, MARKET & COMPETITION INTELLIGENCE
- Benchmark & analyze local customers segmentation, market & competition knowledge to identify business gaps and opportunities. Prospect main market and customers segments to define strategic roadmap priorities for HMC and the joint venture.
- Design & implement a coherent sales & prices policy for HMC varieties at country level to increase market share and gross margin. Support the PSC in their prices policy.
SALES :
- Follow up sales objectives completion & prioritize actions during sales campaign in coordination with the HMC and PSC team.
- Consolidate & review all the sales and purchases forecasts for HMC varieties & design a forecast for the country with a focus on local inventory, volume, monthly allocation & average sales price.
- Manage and follow up sales vs. forecast. Propose/prioritize product allocation amongst areas in case of seed availability issue.
- Review PSC sales and purchase forecast
- Follow up the receivables and validate, coordinate high value/risk situations with the Credit Management team.
PRODUCT RANGE DESIGN & UPDATE
- Based on the recommendations of the Product Development Manager, assess gaps & opportunities of the current portfolio from a sales performance perspective and propose product range optimization for HMC and for the PSC with HMC, LVS and outsourced varieties.
