Requirements:EXPERIENCE:Must have a minimum of three years of commercial driving experience and a valid Kenyan commercial driving license plus have the following additional classifications B,C,E.

Skills and Abilities
Must demonstrate by road tests at the time of interview, skills in handling vehicles and the ability to drive defensively to avoid accidents and personal injuries. Must have a record of accident free driving in Kenya for at least 3 years. Ability to communicate using radio/cell phone, and provide emergency first aid. Must be in excellent physical condition with eyesight correctable to 20/20, a comprehensive background investigation and medical exam. Must have knowledge of Microsoft applications. Basic typing skill is required
Responsibilities
The incumbent provides driver/chauffeur services driving passenger motor vehicles, trucks and buses for Force Protection Detachment (FPD) Mission and other driving related clerical duties in accordance with instructions received from FPD Program Manager.
Operates Mission vehicles to transport authorized Mission employees, materials and official visitors within the city and surrounding in country areas as directed in both offices own and NCIS/USN vehicles. When necessary provide travel services outside of Kenya. When necessary, operates light trucks or Pickup trucks for delivering of materials and equipment within Nairobi and surrounding areas. Complies with all department of State safety and security rules while remaining vigilant to potential threatening situations and be prepared to take evasive or defensive action to protect passengers by moving them swiftly out of harm's way and to a safe location. Remains alert at all times providing necessary security for the vehicle. Incumbent will also be expected to serve in "on-call basis" and will conduct after-hours assignments. Dress and conduct self in a professional manner at all times while performing driving duties. Provide Chauffeur support to the Regional Security Office and Defense Attaché Office upon request due to mission requirements (30%).
Performs daily inspection of assigned vehicle to ensure that the vehicle is clean in and outside, seatbelts are operational, and engine, radiator, brake, clutch and battery fluids are at recommended levels, and the vehicle is in good running condition. Ensures that vehicle tools and spare tire are in operational condition in the vehicle. Performs minor preventive maintenance and safety checks on a daily basis and informs dispatcher or motor pool supervisor of discrepancies. Schedule regular vehicle maintenance with approved vendors and conduct follow up with shops to track status of work completion. Evaluate costs and recommend purchase of parts, supplies and services. Interact with GSO entities and motor pool staff based on needs of Office. Gather monthly mileage and vehicle condition in order to assist with the completion of vehicle reports. The monthly vehicle reports should be provided to NCIS Middle East Field Office, Bahrain. The annual vehicle inventory report should be provided to NCISHQ (25%).
Remains current and knowledgeable on Mission Policy for motor pool usage, vehicle or driving training reports any misuse of a vehicle by embassy personnel or co-workers. Monitors the local travel/driving environment, and takes action to avoid demonstrations, road construction or areas which could pose a danger to the travel of passengers or vehicles. Knows the locations of hospitals, police stations, and foreign missions. Wears the proper chauffer uniform while on duty. Establish and maintain sound interaction with local vendors to make appropriate procurement as needed. Handle petty cash to purchase vehicle supplies and equipment, conduct transactions with vendors and manage receipts, which require personal responsibility to avoid any discrepancies ( 25%)
Provide administrative support to FPD office with procurement requests of office supplies through Ariba and ILMS. Provide travel logistical support for FPD and visiting VIP team to include travel reservations in conjunction with the GSO travel office, route and traffic assessment, security updates and travel schedules using google maps. (20%)
