Chef - International Cuisine

Job Title: Chef - International Cuisine Industry: Education Location: Nairobi Reports to: Hospitality Manager Gross Salary Range: KSH 30,000 - 40,000 About the Role: Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Chef to join their dynamic hospitality team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a wide range of international cuisine from scratch, including dishes inspired by Italian, French, American, and Asian culinary traditions.
This position requires a passionate individual with a strong background in professional kitchens, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to high culinary standards.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook high-quality meals from scratch, reflecting a variety of international cuisines.Assist in planning menus and ensuring the consistency of food preparation.Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations.Work collaboratively within a team and assist with various kitchen tasks as needed.Manage stock levels, conduct inventory checks, and assist in food cost control.Follow instructions and standard operating procedures set by the Hospitality Manager.Deliver meals on time and maintain kitchen operations during high-pressure situations.
Qualifications and Requirements: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in restaurants or international hotels.Valid Food Handling Certificate.Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.Excellent communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors.Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.Experience in stock keeping and kitchen inventory management.High personal standards for cleanliness and hygiene.A team player with a proactive attitude, punctuality, and flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
