Duties and responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail: -
Initiate, prepare and monitor the implementation of County and local physical development plans;
Prepare action plans for specific projects such as residential housing schemes, shopping centers, industrial estates and recreational facilities;
Provide advice to. Government and private agencies on development proposals and plans;
Implement and provide feedback on physical planning guidelines and standards;
Undertake thematic regional studies on matters relating to physical planning;
Manage physical planning data;
Set agenda and convene physical planning liaison committee meetings;
Keep records of deliberations and communicate the decisions of the physical planning liaison committee;
Provide advice on development control;
Carry out public education on physical planning matters;
Prepare annual state of physical planning reports on county and local physical development plans; and
Any other duty assigned.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must: -
Have a Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: - Urban and Regional
Planning; Urban Planning or Town Planning from a recognized institution;
Be registered by the Planners Registration Board;
Experience of not less than 5 years in the public or private sector;
Be a corporate member of Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of
Kenya (Town Planning Chapter);
Have a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
