Tasks and Responsibilities
The Child care Administrator shall perform the following among other duties and responsibilities:
Allocation of duties to staff.
Supervising staff to do their work to the required standards.
Conduct periodic performance appraisal for staff.
Keeping books of accounts.
Overseeing preparation of meals and snacks for the kids.
Organizing activities and developing curriculum for older children.
Developing a schedule for the children to maintain throughout the day.
Keeping records including of each child's progress, interests and any problem that may occur.
Maintaining contacts with the children parents and contacting them in case of an emergency.
Preparing children progress reports and accounts reports to resource partners.
Ensuring the children have a good hygiene and play areas are clean throughout the day.
Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor from time to time
Duties
During this appointment the employee will be expected to carry out duties appropriate to this appointment, and CCGD may make reasonable adjustments to the job description. The employee will be notified of the changes in writing.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements for the Child Care Administrator
Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education(ECDE)
At least to 3 – 5 years' experience working in a childcare setting
Experience working closely with children between 0 to 4 years of age
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), Child Development, Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a childcare, early childhood education, or child protection setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or administrative role.
Strong leadership and organizational skills with demonstrated experience overseeing caregiving staff, daily operations.
Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems for maintaining childcare attendance, enrollment, and developmental records.
Understanding of child protection policies and safeguarding protocols, with experience in implementing them in an institutional or community setting.
Experience working directly with children aged 0–4 years, with a deep understanding of early childhood development milestones.
Strong communication skills for engaging with parents, caregivers, and stakeholders, including writing reports and conducting parent meetings.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively, especially in dynamic or high-pressure environments.
Knowledge of nutrition and hygiene standards relevant to childcare settings.
Commitment to promoting gender-sensitive and inclusive childcare environments.
