Manage, control and support all Claims activities in Kenya. Liaison for claims between all relevant stakeholders to ensure quality of performance, efficiency and protection of the bottom line.
QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree of Commerce/LLB or equivalent
ACII/CII professional qualifications a must have.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 10 years experience managing a Claims operation which includes management of consumer and commercial claims
Experience developing and executing Claims strategies
Operating and infrastructure development experience (eg systems, service centers, regulatory support)
Knowledge of relevant country laws, legal codes, court proceedings and government regulations
Working knowledge of a multinational organization is highly recommended.
Working in a matrix reporting structure will be an advantage
Responsibilities
1. Enhance corporate profitability by review and/or management the following areas of the claim’s operations:Loss ratios
Adequacy of loss reserves
Recoveries
Litigation
Loss adjustment expenses
Vendor management
2. Establish and maintain excellent levels of customer service, with particular attention to:
Responsiveness – speed of service delivery
Quality of service rendered
Explore and implement process improvements, automation opportunities
3. Maintain operational efficiency through:
Setting and monitoring of benchmarks in key performance areas
Maintain a satisfactory closing ratio
Explore and implement process improvements, automation opportunities
Management of third-party vendors
Set authority limits in accordance with roles and responsibilities.
4. Ensure adherence to best practice guidelines
5. Intervene as needed in major or contentious claims
6. Ensure adherence with and implementation of all claims compliance controls as required
7. Executive responsibility
Participate in senior management meetings
Participate in development and implementation of company strategy
Provide the business with relevant claims statistics including trends, large losses etc.
8. Financial and corporate governance to ensure cost efficiency including budget management
9. Audit and Compliance
Ensure adherence to claims compliance / risk requirements
Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements
