The role is a full-time role in MMS/Infusion Systems and will cover the Infusion portfolio

Job Description

The Clinical Resource Consultant will :-
Be seen as an expert in IV therapy around MMS Infusion portfolio.
Take overall responsibility for all clinical aspects of the portfolio within the assigned geography and provide pre- and post-sales support in a clinical, training and educational capacity.
Effectively leverage their clinical and product knowledge to advance sales opportunities as they relate directly to customer needs.
Flexibly support the distributor sales team in the field, acting as an expert, advisor and trouble shooter.
Work in partnership with customers, the Clinical Resource Consultant will advocate best clinical practices for the portfolio.
Provide clinical training, updates to the BD MMS Distributor team/s as requested at a local level and if required at a regional and national level.
Actively seek competitor knowledge and help to develop clinical arguments.
Will support if required and appropriate, other Clinical Services e.g. The In-Service team within key accounts.

Role Key Elements
The primary responsibility of the Clinical Resource Consultant is to support the Distributor sales team/s and Territory Sales Manager in developing sales opportunities and achieving territory budget targets which may include but is not limited to the following key areas:

Attainment and maintenance of clinical expertise in all aspects of IV therapy across Care Areas, to deliver reliable information and education to customers and associates.
Offer scientific & technical support to customers and internal teams
Develop peer-to-peer clinical relationships with key customers through a focus on the delivery of regionally clinical relevant case studies, white papers, collateral etc.

Main Responsibilities
Attainment and maintenance of clinical expertise in all aspects of IV therapy across Care Areas, to deliver reliable information and education to customers and associates.

Drive market shaping and development activities relating to Infusion.
Ongoing clinical development / updates to keep up to date with clinical practice, guidelines and clinical research.
Delivery of internal clinical training and education at induction / on-going. Assess level of knowledge in local customer facing teams and help to develop the knowledge nationally.

Measured by:
Internal feedback.
Knowledge, competency and confidence assessments.
Number of installations and accounts acquired.

Progression through ‘Levels’ Next level is Manager.

Delivery of external clinical education and support to the sales team whenever it’s needed. (I.e. support in In-service activities, Guardrails set up and execution etc.)

Measured by:

Customer, sales and technical and Distributor partner’s feedback.
Account retention / acquisition.
Co-ordination of local education events or initiatives e.g. study days, internal product training etc.

Help to develop clinical arguments against competition.

Stay on top of key competitors, understand their strategy and tactics and actively seek to know their products and arguments used against us. Share this knowledge with international regularly.

Offer scientific & clinical/product support to customers, internal teams & distributors teams

Trouble-shoot and answer clinical queries as required in an appropriate manner
Manage product complaints which require clinical investigation if needed.
Be active in the South African & EMA Clinical Group and support with local knowledge/input when needed.
Help maintain and continually update the clinical/product database with relevant articles, reports, publications and national guidelines.

Develop peer-to-peer clinical relationships with key customers through a focus on the delivery of regionally clinical relevant case studies, white papers, collateral etc.

Be instrumental in identifying, cultivating and managing relationships with key clinical influencers within agreed accounts in partnership with the regional business Managers
Support Marketing, if required, in the development of product campaigns, clinical guidelines, Clinical best practice, literature and product launches.
Help secure attendance and support at conferences, study days, company events.

Support other team members as appropriate (Distributor team, Marketing, Sales ,other)

Provide feedback, if required following a field visit, so a support plan can be executed
Attend MMS exhibitions, seek clinical information, attend appropriate lectures and report back key findings. Also, help and manage stand at the event.

Requirements
Be available to work outside normal working hours/away from home as deemed necessary (above 50% of time on occasions)
Attendance of relevant conferences/exhibitions
Maintain and provide timely and complete reports of activity as required
Maintain and share 6-week schedule in Outlook with Clinical, Marketing and territory Manager as well as the Regional Business Manager.
Follow Company policies and procedures
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the MMS National Clinical Manager /management team
Language/s: Fluency in English (Speak, Read, write) A Local language will be beneficial.
Ability to travel in defined geography 60% and International travel as and when required

Essential Qualifications &Skills
Registered Nurse (preferable experienced or qualified Intensive care/ Critical Care Nurse)minimum 5 years experience
Industry experience either medical technology / pharma environment
Proficient in MS Office
Excellent clinical knowledge and used to medical equipment.
Preferable teaching/training experience. A strong desire to develop the skills and knowledge of others.
Demonstrate good problem solving skills and approach in a planned and process orientated manner.
Confident in giving presentations to small and large customer groups (internal and external).
Demonstrates excellent communication skills that work effectively with all levels of customers both internal and external.
Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Understand the local health system (acute care sectors in both public, private and Faith Based Organizations); knowledge of key customers; understanding & knowledge of medical procedures; understanding of procurement procedures.
Must be well organized, able to prioritize appropriately and display good time management skills.
Is able use IT as an aide to analyzing data, problem solving and effective communication.
Must display high levels of self-awareness and maturity.
