Job Purpose:
Responsible for creating communication materials for dissemination in different internal and external target audiences, including the social media platforms.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a communication policy and guidelines for implementation at the University.
Maintain a register of target internal and external audiences.
Develop engaging, creative, innovative content messages for regularly scheduled posts.
Collect enquiries, and record for follow up. Ensure all enquiries are responded to within the hour.
Research and analyze on public opinion, image, social media trends and perception of the University.
Collect corporate stories from staff, faculty, students' alumni and other partners of the University. Review, edit and proofread the stories for posting on webpages and social media channels and on all University platforms
Create a content guide, storyboard, theme and identify contributing writers for the University's annual magazine.
Manage all social media accounts and any outsourced copywriter and content creators.
Liaise with the graphic designer and audiovisual technician/photographer for publishing of different communications. Distribute media releases to print, radio and television agencies as and when necessary
Plan for, and handle the logistics of conferences, corporate visits, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and other university events. Staff, faculty and Students to be informed of all campus activities.
Design for implementation various CSR activities and programs on behalf of the University.
Ensure a consistent brand message across all the communication channels.
Academic and Professional Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communication or a related field
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
Membership to a relevant professional body.
