The cook's responsibilities include following instructions relating to the timely preparation of food orders, organizing workstations, and assisting other cooks as neededResponsibilities:Preparing specific food items and meal components at your stationPlan and execute menus in collaboration with other colleaguesManage ingredients that should be frequently available on a daily basisSuggest new ways of presentation of dishesSuggest new rules and procedures for optimizing the cooking processGive attention to productivity of the kitchen such as speed and food qualityEnsure adherence to all relevant health, safety and hygiene standardsPrepare sauces for the meat products as per the standard recipes.Collaborating with the rest of the culinary team to ensure high-quality food and serviceKeeping your area of the kitchen safe and sanitaryStocktaking and ordering supplies for the kitchenImproving your food preparation methods based on feedbackAssisting in other areas of the kitchen when requiredQualifications and SkillsDiploma holder in Food production from a reputable college.Knowledge in food controlMust hold a valid food handlers certificateExperience in institutions of higher learning is and added advantageAt least 3 year experience in a 4 star hotel kitchen in a similar position.Possess business etiquette with a strong work ethic, high level of honesty/integrity, results oriented, ability to deliver under pressure
