Position Summary:
The University invites applications from dynamic, visionary, and results-oriented individuals for the position of Dean, School of Education. The Dean will provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership, guiding the school in achieving excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement. Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Research & Student Affairs), the Dean will oversee curriculum development, quality assurance, resource management, and the implementation of the University's Strategic Plan within the School of Education.
Key responsibilities:
Provide academic and administrative leadership across all departments and programs under the School of Education.
Lead curriculum development, implementation, review, and evaluation for undergraduate and graduate programs.
Participate in the development of university-wide policies and university initiatives
Supervise and evaluate faculty performance, including classroom observations and preparation of performance reports.
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration, research, innovation, and scholarly activities within the school.
Spearhead the School's budgeting process, resource mobilization, and financial management.
Enhance the School's visibility, partnerships, alumni engagement, and community outreach.
Measures and tracks school annual performance against objectives; prepares and submits annual assessment report to the designated office; and fully engages with the University's Assessment Program.
Foster a vibrant academic environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and holistic student development.
Oversee course scheduling, instructional resources, and facilities management to ensure a conducive learning environment.
Support faculty development, research collaboration, and linkages with local and international institutions.
Marketing and promoting the school to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experiences:
An earned M.Ed and Doctorate (PhD) in Education or a related field.
At least seven (7) years of experience in higher education, including a minimum of two (2) years in an administrative leadership role (e.g., Department Head, Chair) and three (3) years of university-level teaching.
Ranked as an Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer with 3 years' experience since ranking.
A proven record of research and scholarship, with at least five (5) peer-reviewed publications.
Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the University's mission, vision, and core values.
Experience in resource mobilization, including securing grants and leading academic development projects.
Competence in budget management, faculty development, and fostering university-community partnerships.
Strong leadership, communication, people management, and organizational skills; with a focus on student-centered initiatives, relationship building, and strategic planning.
