Job Purpose:
To conduct all clearing and forwarding related operations at
the ICD in a timely manner to ensure that all cargo is cleared on time.
Job roles & responsibilities
·
Executes customs entries and
performs customs security filings in adherence to internal procedures and
latest local customs regulations
·
Conducts classification of goods based on
information provided by the customers
·
Ensures completeness and correctness of
paperwork
·
Works on post clearance modifications
·
Performs archiving of customs
documents based on legal requirements
·
Updates Customs shipment information
and physical status
·
Resolves customer issues, handles
and solves incidents (e.g. escalations, disputes)
·
Interacts with Customer Service,
Product, and customer if required.
Cargo Payments
·
Follow up of shipment tickets with
KPA/ CFS.
·
Liaising with Finance/Clients for
payments of taxes and shipment costs
·
Bonds
·
Timely cancellation of security
bonds.
·
Proper records of bonds in effect
and those cancelled.
Operations
·
Ensure forwarding clerks have all
required documents for clearance of cargo at KPA, CFS & KRA.
·
Occasionally be involved in
verification and physical clearance of shipments at KPA, CFS & KRA.
·
Be conversant with the general
forwarding office administration roles such as filling.
·
Be involved in training and
supervision of trainees.
·
Timely submission of monthly
Declaration
·
Any other duties assigned by the
Management from time to time.
Education & Experience
·
Diploma or Degree in C&F,
logistics, procurement or any other related course
·
Minimum 4 years’ hands-on experience
in port operations
·
Customs Declaration
·
Must have training in ICMS and
KESRA.
·
Conversant with all customs
procedures.
