The County Public Service Board of Nyandarua wishes to recruit competent and qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions at the following Departments:

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT, ENERGY AND PUBLIC WORKS
2. Director Roads JOB GROUP ‘R’ (CPSB 3) ONE (1) POST ADVERT NO. 131/2020
Terms of Service : Permanent and Pensionable
Basic Salary : Kshs.121,430 p.m. – Kshs. 169,140 p.m.
House Allowance : Kshs. 20,000 p.m.
Commuter Allowance : Kshs. 16,000 p.m.
Medical Benefits : Comprehensive Medical Cover
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
i. Experience of at least twelve(12) years in road construction and management;
ii. A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution;
iii. Be registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
iv. A valid Annual Practicing License from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
v. Corporate membership with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK);
vi. Demonstrated general administrative ability required for direction, control and implementation of Mechanical Engineering Programmes; and
vii. Certificate in computer application.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. Planning, controlling and coordinating of designs;
ii. Supervising of construction, repairs and maintenance of roads;
iii. Checking of Engineering consultants’ designs and fees;
iv. Coordinating the improvement of road services
v. Certifying and recommending payment to contractors;
vi. Supervision of construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of classified and unclassified roads;
vii. Preparation of tender documents; and
viii. Monitoring the execution of road development projects.
