East Africa Regional Field Accountant (Rfa) At Fews Net

The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) Early Warning Team (EWT) seeks a full-time regional field accountant based in Nairobi, Kenya. FEWS NET is an integrated set of activities to provide timely, accurate, evidence-based, and transparent food security early warning information and analysis. Chemonics International (Chemonics) implements the FEWS NET EWT, a team charged with integrated emergency food insecurity analysis through a Washington-based technical office and more than 20 field offices.The East Africa RFA will advise field offices on financial compliance matters, review and analyze local account submissions, and help projects devise approaches for asset and liability management. The East Africa RFA will also train other appropriate field personnel in the use of accounting software and tracking mechanisms.This is a short-term assignment to run through October 14, 2024.Minimum qualifications for this position include:Proficiency in written and spoken English is required; other local language skills are highly desirableAt least six years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required; advanced university degree (Master's degree or higher) is highly desirablePrior knowledge of accounting systems (ABACUS, QuickBooks) highly desirableExperience performing accounting audits or reviewsKnowledge of USAID and its operations preferred
