The purpose of the position:
Resolve,maintain and improve all electrical related components of the business from
machinery and equipment through to lighting and fixtures and any other
electrical areas of the business.
Objectives :
Perform routine maintenance, and provide infrastructure upgrades as needed. To succeed in this position, one needs to be an independent, competent, and thorough professional who takes great pride in their work and is committed to safety.
Responsibilities
Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently repair electrical systems
Work rapidly without compromising quality in order to minimize down times
Communicate estimated timelines for repairs to those impacted
Conduct tests and assessments of new systems and repairs to ensure quality
Commit to compliance with all safety standard and regulations at all times
Perform preventative maintenance to stay ahead of potential issues
Troubleshoot all problems effectively, performing quality, lasting repairs
Install new equipment and wiring to expand infrastructure as needed
Log all services and report progress to management
Assess systems and suggest modifications to prevent future issues
Maintain all equipment in excellent working order
Ensures all electrical & instruments engineering installations and maintenance conform to statutory requirements.
Assist to provide technical specifications, for parts and machinery to be procured.
Works towards the improvement of efficiencies and the implementation of cost-saving measures.
Very strong analytical and troubleshooting skills regarding electrical & mechanical systems
Prepared to work “hands-on” in a manufacturing environment
Good knowledge of Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Mechanical experience that includes pneumatic control systems
Ability to read/understand Electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings
Must be prepared to receive further technical training
Maintains a safe & clean work environment.
Ensure all cable management is done in a safe, traceable and organized manner

Work experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in busy manufacturing Company as Electrician/ Technician specifically on CNC machines – ideally Biesse or similar machines
Academic Qualifications
Diploma or equivalent required, a degree in electrical engineering preferredProfessional Qualifications and Skills
• Instrumentation & Computer literate
• A formal qualification trade test certificate is required.
• Valid electrician license in good standing
• Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience fabricating, assembling, and installing wire harnesses
• Experience installing electrical panels
• Experience in commercial and residential settings strongly
• preferred
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment
• Able to utilize hand tools and power tools
• Solid working knowledge of all code requirements
• Ability and willingness to follow all legal and company safety regulations
• Outstanding problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Physical ability to complete this type of work, often in demanding environments
• Team-player mentality
• Able to work independently with little supervision
