Fiber Roll Out And Maintenance Technicians.

1. Installing and terminating fiber optic cables and other network equipment.
2. Fiber link faulting and faults resolutions within the service Level Agreement (SLA).
3. Being on call to maintain fiber cables and equipment.
4. Performing preventative maintenance in different clusters as scheduled.
5. Splicing fiber optics at various fiber distribution hubs, troubleshooting and testing fiber links with a light source, optical power meters and an OTDR.
6. Observing Health & safety guidelines and ensuring quality assurance throughout the implementation and maintenance period.
7. Providing timely updates on fiber faults to the NOC personnel and ensuring excellent customer service to the client.
8. Educating clients on basic trouble shooting process and answering fiber optic related questions from customers.
9. Documentation and generation of reports on work done.
10. Individual will work as a team with other technicians and NOC personnel and report to field supervisors.
Education, Experience and Competence;
• BSC or Equivalent in (Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering , IT).
• Fiber Optics Technician certified.
• Health & Safety Training is an added advantage.
• Work at Height Training is also an added advantage.
• Must have 2 years’ prior experience in Fiber optics deployment, splicing, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Must have knowledge in fiber Optic installation and testing equipment.
• Must have Problem solving abilities, ability to work under pressure, team player and extreme attention to details.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
The holder of this position will be responsible for fiber optics installation, trouble shooting, testing and maintenance of fiber faults.
