Job Description
Key Responsibilities
o
Manage all the activities of the finance
department
o
Be involved in managing the performance of all
the operations departments
o
Be involved in developing and reviewing
financial policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
o
Produce finance and operations management
reports on a periodic basis
o
Manage cash-flow
o
Be involved in developing and monitoring the
company’s annual budget + managing cost-saving initiatives
o
Main point of liaison with external auditors,
regulators and other third parties.
o
Lead on the internal audit function of the
company &enhance internal control systems
o
Liaise with Head of Project & Partnerships
on assessment of new and existing projects
o
Oversee monthly VAT/withholding tax returns and
reconciliations
o
Main point of contact with banks and other
financiers – involved in negotiations
o
Provide recommendations on how to improve the
company’s balance sheet, P&L and cash-flow
Qualifications
·
A relevant bachelor’s degree
·
Must hold some accounting qualifications and
have experience of working with ERP systems
·
Minimum 7 years’ experience in finance or
related roles
·
Experience – at least as second in charge – in
managing a team of department heads
·
Sound knowledge of corporate finance and
accounting principles, laws and best practices
·
Sound knowledge of KRA and tax matters, as well
as staying abreast of all relevant regulations
·
Good understanding of financial analysis, forecasting,
planning & reporting
·
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Monthly gross salary: Starting at KES 100,000-KES 150,000
with an increase of up to 50% on successful completion of probation
