The role holder will be a core member of Aceli Africa’s dynamic and growing team and will be responsible for the analytical support of Aceli’s Financial Incentives program. The incumbent MUST possess a deep understanding of and passion for working with numbers. Additionally, the analyst should have keen interest in actively contributing to the design and implementation of an ambitious initiative to mobilize financing for positive social impact.The role will report directly to the Head of Operations and will be employed by GDI Kenya, a nonprofit entity registered under Kenyan law and affiliated with GDI, Inc., a nonprofit registered in the United States of America.
Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics or any related field;
· Professional qualifications in accounting (CPA, ACCA) or equivalent;
· Experience in Salesforce and agricultural finance will be added advantages;
· A minimum of four (4) years professional experience in East Africa , auditing financial institutions, performing credit appraisals, or in a busy finance function at a financial institution;
· Demonstrated ability to develop and interpret financial models and advanced use of spreadsheets;
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
· Service orientation with ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external clients;
· Meticulous with keen attention to detail and solutions oriented;
· Should be able to work independently in a rapidly evolving environment;
· Passion for applying technical skills to have a positive impact on farmer livelihoods, food security, and economic development in East Africa.
Responsibilities
· Participate in the process of accrediting lenders to Aceli Africa by conducting due diligence on pre-qualified lenders, assessing their suitability to participate in Aceli, and preparing reports on the same;· Review and analyze loan data submitted by participating lenders to assess their eligibility for financial incentives in line with the established guidelines;
· Critically review lenders’ loan portfolios to analyze portfolio performance and conduct sensitivity analyses to determine impact on overall Aceli Africa outcomes;
· Assume an active role in the iteration of the Financial Incentives model as well as enhancement of policies and procedures governing the operations of the Financial Incentives;
· Proactively identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, and including Excel dashboards;
· Periodically transfer loan data and reports from Salesforce and maintain a manual backup system;
· Support engagement with stakeholders to address any arising issues / questions from the financial incentives program;
· Provide analytical inputs for internal and external communication including periodic reports to stakeholders and donors.
