The Finance Coordinator will be dynamic, experienced and will oversee the finance and admin operations in Kenya. This is a critical new role that will help drive the organization to scale in 2021.

THE ROLE
The Finance Coordinator will oversee our finance and administrative operations. This will entail supporting the programs of financial management, donor reporting and coordinate financial administrative tasks. The candidate will also offer business training/ related technical
assistance to the programs team and Mamapreneurs. You will be situated within Kidogo?s Operations team and work directly with the Senior Manager Operations who oversees the finance and administration department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide administrative support in monitoring and overseeing the financial management for all Kidogo activities including the oversight of financial expenditure and accountability;undertake preliminary financial analysis of programs.
• Prepare donor specific expenditure and narratives reports, preparing receipt vouchers for donor income and other receipts from donors.
• Apply adequate administrative instructions and application of internal control procedures to safeguard the Organization?s assets, control cash and prevent fraud.
• Alert the supervisor in a timely manner of unusual or irregularities regarding transactions, and delays impacting timely reporting.
• Liaise and coordinate with company departments and finance teams for annual budget preparation.
• Preparation of financial statements, supporting schedules and budget versus expenditure variance report for annual audit; and supporting the auditors in provision of information and documents during the audit.
• Support accounting team/department to ensure implementation of sound accounting practice and resource management.
• Managing communication with external agencies and partners regarding finance management
• Positively contribute to organizational culture and participate fully in staff processes and training.
• Over time, the role can expand to include certain HR functions, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND
REQUIRED:
• 4-year degree in Finance/Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant of Kenya CPA-K or ACCA
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience working in finance or accounting
• Must have experience in all aspects of accounting
• Basic computer literacy (email, internet, Microsoft Word)

PREFERRED:
• Deep knowledge of QBO accounting software and other ERP systems
• English and Swahili fluency
• 2-4 years experience in Donor Funded Programs
• Attention to detail , coachable, ability to meet deadlines
• Willingness to commit a minimum of 2 years
• Previous experience in urban informal settlements or lower income communities (bonus!)
