Job Summary
Our client, one of the worldwide market leaders in the flower and plant industry, is looking for a Financial Controller for its office in Nairobi. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to consolidate the financial accounts for the company as well as ensuring that the various operating units are closing the books monthly and in compliance with the laid down accounting principles and policies. As a part of joint responsibility, the candidate is also required to ensure that the management results submitted by the various divisions are in line with financials. He/she has to work closely with the Heads of Departments to ensure timely reporting and compliance and be able to drive business analytics to track the key lagging indicators. Being conversant with AX Dynamics is an added advantage.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Lead financial and commercial analysis in the business.
• Hands-on in business analytics to facilitate decision making and work on the value drivers for profitable growth.
• Work closely with the Heads of Department checking & assessing the value drivers and developing business analytics to facilitate decision-making.
• Prepare and present periodic financial reports that are accurate and timely.
• Budgeting, budgetary control and forecasting.
• Manage company cash flow on a daily basis and generate relevant cash flow projections and forecasting.
• Manage all aspects of group accounting, inventory control and payroll.
• Carry out a critical analysis of the business results and functional costs and review performance against the Annual Operating Plan.
• Deal with Senior Management across various functions and work closely with various leaders within the business to drive business growth and profitability.
• Interact and actively engage with external key stakeholders such as banks, the KRA and other relevant bodies.
• Carry out financial evaluation of investments and also help in supporting businesses with various trade-off decisions.
• Responsible for strategic planning of the business and preparing long term financial projections for the individual value streams.
• Responsible for preparing presentations to the Board.
• Closely oversee the cash generation in the business and influence the business in tightly managing working capital for the business.
• Responsible for all external reporting to various stakeholders – banks and financial institutions.
• Be the custodian of all accounting policies an issue guidelines/clarification whenever needed.
• Provide guidelines to the Business Planning process in the company so as to ensure to have consistent assumptions built into the Business Plan.
• On a monthly basis submit a Board Note providing the financials information in summary to the Board.
• Make presentations to take the Board through the financial and highlight key areas for board attention.
Qualifications:
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA).
• More than eight years of proven and hands-on experience in combined accounting and finance in a senior management role.
• Recent hands-on experience in working in Tier 1 ERP systems (SAP/Microsoft AX).
• Strong business analytical skillset – with the ability to distil, report and control business activities and remedial actions required.
• Sound knowledge of systems, and business processes.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Possesses excellent working knowledge of Advanced Excel / PowerPoint.
• Able to appreciate the transactional aspect of financial accounting while having a very strong commercial skillset.
• A strong ‘all-rounder’ in finance and change leadership.
Monthly gross salary:KES 350,000 gross (Approx. 3,500 USD) plus bonus and medical.
