Our client in the retail sector is looking a Florist to be based in Nairobi. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the shop is clean and well-stocked. She/he will also assist in setting up displays, packaging of flowers, plants and other accessories and offer support to customers and staff. He/She must have a minimum of 2 year’s relevant experience in a similar positionKey Responsibilities: Safely and responsibly making deliveries and office errands.Taking account of all available information on road conditions, accessible routes and locations as well as a different mode of transport for various deliveries.Processing and packaging customer orders.Communicate information regarding product availability to ensure the products are restocked in good time.Collect supplies and ensure all are in good condition.Keep a record of all items going in and out of storage; participate in regular physical inventory checks of all products in the store.Ensure products not meeting the established quality standards are removed and updated in the inventory.Engage in evaluation and improvement of service delivery and efficiency of operations.Help customers with the selection of the products they require.Unpack and record stock as it comes in or leaves the store or any other site.Water plants, cut, condition, and clean flowers and foliage for storage.Confer with the sales team regarding price and type of arrangement desired and the date, time, and place of delivery.Prepare ribbons, gift items and other accessories.Ensure all arrangements meet standards; excellent quality.Creatively design, cut and arrange live, dried, or artificial flowers, bouquets, wreaths, terrariums and foliage.Trim and arrange flowers using trimmers, shapers, wire, pins, floral tape, foam, and other materials.Select flora and foliage for arrangements working with numerous combinations to synthesize and develop new creations.Take time to learn about the care, maintenance, and handling of various flowers and foliage, indoor plants, and other items.Creatively decorate flower decoration of external facilities; tents, buildings, halls, churches or other facilities for parties, weddings, funerals, baby showers and other occasions.Wrap gifts creatively maintaining brand standards.Come up with creative options for gift add-ons to accompany flowers.Accessing the scope of a job and liaise with the line manager on resources required.Product diversification and innovation; Come up with own creations that are in line with brand standards.Ensure old stock and flowers with a short vase life are used first to avoid waste.Waste Management.Prepare existing products sold online and in other outlets. Qualifications: Must have a certificate/diploma in any arts.Must have at least 2 years of work experience.Familiarity with the Kenyan road/ street network.Should possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Must be creative.Must hold a high level of integrity and commitment to the company.Some knowledge of the current flower and event management business in Kenya is an added advantage.Highly organized with good time management skills.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands.Customer Service skills.Must be proactive and a team player.Ability to work with minimum supervision.Attention to detail.Must be flexible and solution and result-oriented.Be well presented in a professional manner.
