Full Time Lecturers

POSITION SUMMARY:
Full-time faculty are professionaleducators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling Tangaza University College's mission, vision, values, strategic plan,and educational philosophy. Faculty members are classified ac­cording to theranks of Tutorial/Research Fellow, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, AssociateProfessor, and Professor. Faculty members are subject to policies of theTangaza University College Council, and exercise academic free­dom together with its accompanyingresponsibilities. They are directly responsible to the Programme Leader and function within the administrative structure oftheir respective school. The relationship of the faculty member to the learneris one of leader, teacher, coach, mentor, and facilitator of learning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
A PhD or earned MEd (havingregistered for PhD) in the following areas:
Science, Computer, Education, English,Geography, History, Kiswahili, Maths, CRE, and Psychology.
Experience:
·Minimum of 5 years of higher educationteaching experience , complemented by academic publications and other academicachievements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Demonstrates understanding of the Tangaza University College Mission,Vision and Values.
2. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff,students, and the broader educational and professional communities;
3. A record ofacademic achievement in the discipline

Responsibilities

To provide the highest quality teaching,learning and assessment to learners using the most appropriate and innovative methods.

Teach nine (9) courses per Academic year across the Institutes andsupervise a minimum of 3and a maximum of 5 students per year in their writing of theses and/or long essay.

Be available to studentsfor out-of-class consultation at agreed times.

Produce the highestquality learning and assessment materials and assignments and use the most upto date and appropriateresources to support learning and assessment

Assign grades andmaintain course/student records in accordance with Tangaza regulations andsubmit grades and records by established deadlines.

Carry out research,conference and produce peer-reviewed publications in line with targets agreedwith the supervisor
