Duties and Responsibilities
Support spatial assessments and mapping efforts related to climate resilience, public space, and inclusive urban development, using available data and basic GIS tools.
This contributes to the development of planning tools and visual materials that help identify priority areas for local investment and nature-based urban interventions.
Assist in maintaining user-friendly dashboards and spatial databases to track indicators related to urban health, accessibility, and public services.
Participate in the preparation of project materials that combine spatial data with social and economic insights to support evidence-based decision-making.
Support the identification of underserved communities and opportunity areas, contributing to strategies for local economic recovery and improved service delivery.
Help ensure spatial data and outputs are organized, well-documented, and compatible with partner systems, following UN-Habitat's basic data standards.
Qualifications/special skills
Academic Qualification; Master's degree in Economics, Geography, Urban Planning, Urban Studies, or a related field is required.
Working Experience; At least two (2) years of experience working in local economic development, urban planning, GIS and/or public finance is required.
Prior experience working in developing countries is strongly desired.
