Vaccine science is more than just conducting clinical trials and manufacturing product.We need to explain our work, our processes and what it all means.Connecting these dots for different audiences means telling data stories and making information accessible.The ideal candidate is an artist and a storyteller - someone who can use data and scientific information (text and images) to make our work more accessible to wider audiences.
Our team interprets the science, picks out highlights that become our messages and shares those messages on our various platforms.This candidate helps build the visuals that accompany those messages.
You don't need to be a scientist for this role.You need to be comfortable working with science and data and adept at finding creative ways to illustrate scientific concepts helping us envision information more effectively through art and graphic design.
This position reports directly to the Senior Director, R&D Communications and is expected to work primarily remote.

Minimum requirements:
Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in graphic design, or related field
Only applications submitted with a portfolio will be considered; digital links are acceptable
The ideal candidate has experience with:
Adobe Illustrator creating new art around scientific subject matterRepresentation of biological things (ex. A protein)
Small-scale assets that focus on just one number / fact (ex. "40 million doses") as a mini-graphic that's part of a larger story arc
Taking several data points / story items and building visuals for an infographic (ex. The steps of how something gets manufactured)
Adobe InDesign creative layout of text / photo / art content as factsheets (ex. Explaining a clinical trial)
Creating assets in sizes / formats to be leveraged on social media, blogs, etc.
