Education
Applicants to IOM internships must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: a) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent in media studies, marketing, business administration, communication or any other relevant field); or b) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher in media studies, marketing, business administration, communication or any other relevant field); or c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in a) or b) above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.
Experience
Minimum of six (6) months of experience in graphic designing/desktop publishing.
? Prior work experience with a creative or ad agency.
? Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suits, particularly, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
? Proficiency in MS Office Publisher and PowerPoint. ? Excellent drafting and communication skills in English is essential.
? Team-work oriented, capacity to work independently; personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, experience in working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels
? Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines ? Prior experience in international humanitarian organizations, non-government organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
? Knowledge of video production software such as Adobe Premiere and After effects is an advantage.
Responsibilities
1. Design high quality visual products for public outreach campaigns, publications, conferences, events, meetings, social media and the website.
2. Assist in designing of templates such as brochures, info sheets, situation reports, project progress reports, and IEC materials and convert them to other publishing software.
3. Assist the Mission Support and Innovation Unit in developing visually attractive powerpoint presentations.
4. Produce graphs, charts, illustrative maps, diagrams, icons, and graphics aligned with visual identity charts and elements.
5. Assist in taking photographs of events, workshops, seminars, donor engagement events, field activities, etc.
6. Adhere to IOM branding guidelines, publication guidelines and photography and videography standards and principles.
7. Undertake travel duties as and when required
