Reporting directly to the Group CFO, the Head of Finance will act with objectivity as the conscience of the business, moving between major control and value based topics whilst protecting and liberating value in the group. Business acumen and the experience of operating at a C-suite level is paramount.Coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer is a key component of this role.

Responsibilities
?Standard (static & dynamic) Reporting (validation);?Validate financial reporting for both group and local statutory reporting, continuously improve the quality of accounting in the different countries & implement changes in accounting standards, policies & procedures
?KPI analysis – Analysis of non-financial metric like transaction value and count per market/country, merchant analysis etc
?Control the budgeting process and ensure monthly alignment with budgeted items and reporting on variances
?Reporting monthly results to the Group CFO in a structured report
?Technology, Systems; information;
?Lead the development and implementation of a technology & information transformation projects in conjunction with developers
?Automate existing & future finance team tools to minimise manual updating & inputs to dramatically increase team efficiency e.g. by converting existing Excel tools (where possible) to the best platform or system for the job at hand
?Group Tax Management;
?Active management of relevant group tax filings, enquirers & third-party relationship management where applicable
?Ensure all statutory entities VAT/Corporate Tax/PAYE/WHT accounts are reconciled
?Manage a Pan-African team of tax consultants
?Team Management;
?Management of finance team, performance reviews and ensuring individual and divisional goals are aligned and met
?Mentor and develop finance staff members
?Liaising with the South African Head of Finance to ensure collaboration across divisions
?Risk Management Controls;
?Pro-actively mobilise the group risk management agenda, ensuring high-quality risk assessments are conducted & risks are appropriately managed
?Understand the root causes of issues & poor performance, identify where controls are not operating and drive remediation through relevant business leaders
?Oversight over financial controls operated outside of the Finance Department & drive focus on operational controls across the business
?Maintain & enforce relevant local authority schedules
?Ensure that reconciliations are performed for all balance sheet items for all legal entities
