The RoleSt Andrew's School, Turi is looking for an experienced Head of Modern Foreign Languages to lead our highly effective and competent team of French and Kiswahili teachers. The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Head Academic and will be expected to deliver high quality and exciting provision in the academic classroom for able and talented students. The Head of Modern Foreign Languages is a member of the Heads of Department Team, and leads our highly effective and competent team of French & Kiswahili teachers. Our desire is to recruit committed and resourceful staff, who are looking to develop their skills and leadership and embrace new experiences and challenges.Knowledge & ExperienceQualificationsA degree result of 2:1 or its equivalentA teaching degree i.e. PGCEan additional qualification of educational managementKnowledgeA clear understanding of and affinity for the School's ethosKnowledge of the requirement and operation of ISI or equivalent inspectorateRecent experience and knowledge of leading an MFL DepartmentAn understanding of effective leadership and management in relation to co-curricular provision.ExperienceLeadership experience, including energy, resilience and a track record of enthusing and motivating othersCurrent Head of DepartmentExperience of teaching KS2 or KS4 French and/or KiswahiliRelevant experience in a Prep School contextRelevant experience in working in a boarding school.Experience of successfully managing budgets and delivering against objectives.Willingness to contribute to the sporting and co-curricular programme of the school.
