We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and result driven person(s) to fill the following vacant position(s):
**HEAD OF PROCUREMENT - NKCC/HR.705/HoP/02/06/2021
Job Purpose**
Reporting to Managing Director, Head of Procurement will be responsible for assisting the Company achieve its strategic goals through implementation of efficient and effective systems of acquisition of goods, works and services, as well as disposal of assets.
Key responsibilities
• Provide advisory and professional opinion on procurement matters to the Accounting Officer and ensure compliance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015.
• Carry out procurement and disposal activities in accordance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015 and the company’s Procurement Manual and Policies.
• Prepare and implement the Annual Procurement Plan, carry out periodic stock take and review organisational procurement needs.
• Maintain and continually update the list of registered suppliers.
• Review and maintain all records of purchased goods, works and services, including costs, deliveries and inventories and undertake Market surveys.
• Liaise with the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority on various issues regarding public procurement and disposal of assets and submit statutory reports.
• Coordinate Disposal of surplus and obsolete stores and equipment
• Identifying opportunities for inventory reduction and implementing the principles of lean inventory management while liaising with the other departments to balance the inventory pool and minimize transportation and storage costs.
Person Specifications
• Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics, Purchasing and Supplies or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Purchasing, Logistics, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Have twelve (12) years relevant work experience and at least five (5) in a senior management role in a comparable organization.
• Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies Diploma (CIPS) or its equivalent.
• A member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or any other professional body recognized by law.
• Working knowledge of an ERP system
• Have a leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
