Job Description
COMPANY/LOCATION: Mombasa

REPORTS TO: Administrator
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives & Systems.
• Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing Job Descriptions, Posting Ads and Managing the hiring process.
• Responsible for Employee Appraisals.
• Create and implement an effective on boarding plan/process.
• Develop Training and Development Programmes and assist in Performance Management Process.
• Maintain employee records (attendance, absences, personal files etc) according to policy and requirements
• Review employment and working conditions to ensure Policy and Legal Compliances are adhered to.
• Advise on and resolve disagreement/employees issues and handling of complaints to protect general interests.
• In conjunction with Union, Human Resources and workers develop and ensure Healthy Work Relationships and a supportive atmosphere at the workplace.
• Provision of advise for Department/Line Managers on how to deal with employees most of all in Industrial Relations issues, grievances and disciplinary issues.
• Visit branches when necessary and while having Health and Safety meetings.
• Assist in negotiations of Collective Bargaining, Employment issues and Policies
• Maintaining good relationship with Public Officials, Union Officials, Customers, Service Providers, Private Institutions and Members of the Public.
• Provide basic counselling to staff with personal and performance related issues.
• Evaluate requirements and develop appropriate staff training programs and opportunities.
• Analyse job requirements, administer job selection and recruitment and develop an effective internship program, ensuring smooth transition and orientation of new staff into the organisation.
• Develop and maintain credible relations with statutory (government) agencies, suppliers, internal and external customers and clients and other stakeholders.
• Liaise with Company lawyer on labour and legal matters and represent the Company where necessary.
• Utilizing your leadership skills and knowledge as a strong team player we expect you to bring to the Company all your experience in negotiations and interpersonal skills to develop a high-performance ethical culture within our team combined with strategic thinking ability.
• Oversee all workplace Health, safety and security matters and management of any arising injuries and related claims with a view to institute future preventive measures and management of the First Assurance Medical Insurance scheme.
• Litigation, drafting legal documents, conducting research on assigned tasks.
• Filing of court documents, serving legal processes, conveying and property management.
• Attending court in filing court documents.
Qualifications & Requirements;
• Degree in Human Resources/Business Administration
• Diploma in HR
• Over 5 years work experience preferably in a factory.
• Member IHRM
