Role overview
The role of the IT Manager is to
ensure optimal performance of IT infrastructure in the Global
Secretariat and operations in alignment with the objectives of the
organization. The role also supports the implementation of the
technology requirements of the Digital and Technology Strategy,
including IT security and governance in the federation, relying on
outsourcing as required in the UK Data centre and Cloud services. The
ideal candidate will provide technical expertise and guidance to IT
Assistants on the operations, disaster recovery, security and
maintenance of local and wide area networks.
The IT Manager will coordinate closely
with the Head of Digital and Technology to identify, recommend,
develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions in
line with the organization’s strategic vision.
This person will also participate in defining and implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
Areas of Responsibility
Ensure high level of IT continuity plans for core systems are maintained and tested to the agreed standards and frequency;
Plan and develop IT budgets, lead on IT process mapping and infrastructure projects management;
Recommend and implement new IT strategies, policies and procedures by evaluating the organization outcomes;
Review and communicate impact of new solution rollouts and coordinate country IT on solution rollouts;
Provide technical input to the new technology solutions and advise on risk management strategies and impact;
Monitor upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems; and
Manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems; and
Network configuration assessments, and implementing Hardware/software upgrades and improvements.
Education, Language & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, with atleast over 7 years related work experience; and
Professional certification in systems engineering and systems administration.
Essential Knowledge, skills and Experience
Demonstrated ability to manage IT systems and staff remotely through appropriate technology;
Demonstrated ability to plan and execute technology projects and system implementations effectively; and
Management skills with demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
