he Law Division, National Environmental Law Unit's internship is for six (6) months.
The Internship is UNPAID and full-time.

Interns work five days per week (35-40 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigne

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Head of the National Environmental Law Unit, the intern will work with and learn from a team of experienced legal professionals in the area of environmental law and will be offered the opportunity to:
- Assist countries to develop new environmental legislation or to review and revise their environmental legislation through carrying out research and analysis, reviewing draft legislation and providing comments and suggestions for improvement.

- Prepare written summaries and/or make oral presentations of his/her research, including briefing notes and reports;

- Assist in the organization and support of training events (such as on environmental law or the multilateral environmental agreements) and other meetings and workshops that are organized by the Unit or in which the Unit is involved through, e.g., preparing the agenda, liaising with participants, compiling materials, making presentations, taking notes;

- Undertake such other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of the Unit and other Legal Officers within the Unit, such as the preparation of communication material promoting the Unit's work.
