The function of internship will involve Prospecting and Information Management, which is geared to assuring that SUF delivers on its mandate to the University in fundraising.

Responsibilities
Research
Proactively and independently plan and execute creative strategies to identify sources
Provide high-level research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using a wide variety of biographical, organizational and financial sources, including state-of-the-art online database services, Internet websites, library and government sources and other external repositories of public information.
Provide consultative services and orientation sessions on research methodologies and resources to fundraisers, faculty and other key campus personnel involved in fundraising.
Compose documents (profiles, biographies, project summaries) using style, grammar and content appropriate to specific audiences. Extract and communicate key information which directs cultivation and solicitation strategies.
Prospect Research/Management
Participate in developing potential sources list for the fundraising team.
Identify, research, and target potential corporate and foundation donors.
Develop and maintain a database of research on potential and actual donors.
Organize and record relevant research information for each donor.
Where necessary carry out specific prospect research on some potential donors.
Participate in developing potential sources List for the fundraising team.
Identify, research, and target prospects from current donors.
Assist in the cultivation, solicitation, management and recognition of a portfolio of prospects.
Accounting for Donations
Record all donations/gifts to the University. Ensure all donations received are properly receipted.
Maintain a database of all donations received by various department and/or faculties
Frequently check the bank accounts for donations received.
Reconcile the donations with the records of the Finance Office. Provide financial reports from Kuali on use of donor funds.
Other tasks
May temporarily perform other duties assigned by the Director of Development, including decision making responsibilities as appropriate in his/her absence to maintain operations and services at a high level performance.
