Job Purpose:
As part of the Alliance Programme team, this role is responsible for further developing, supporting and coordinating effective communications and engagement platforms and mechanisms across the membership of Family for Every Child - an Alliance of local civil society organisations.
In addition to facilitating Alliance engagement activities and communication with and among members, the Knowledge Management & Member Engagement Coordinator will support members through the stages of the Member Journey by building and managing understanding and relationships across the membership. This role will also provide a flexible response to a range of member requests and ideas/initiatives to ensure the Alliance always maintains a member-led and peer to peer approach.
Education, qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential:
? Educated to UK Degree level (international Level 6) or equivalent qualification ideally in international development, social sciences, civil society, social policy, social work, international relations or psychology)
? Experience of helping facilitate participation within a member-led network or alliance, preferably of civil society organisations
? Experience of developing and disseminating communications (primarily online) in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural context, to expert peers within the same sector
? Experience of using/developing different online communication tools and an awareness and interest in using a range of tools and mechanisms to support relationship management and case management
? Experience of copywriting/editing content for publications - online and printed
? An understanding of the international development sector, and knowledge of key issues in child protection and child care, in different regions
? Experience of working remotely or with remote-working colleagues and of working as part of an international team
Desirable:
? Additional language fluency/bilingual level is highly desirable - especially in Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese or French
? Experience of working within a network organisation
? Experience of working with Google Apps
? Experience of using Adobe applications such as InDesign, photoshop etc.
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the Member Journey from new member orientation through to transition to full membership and subsequent steps/reviews
? Planning and supporting the delivery of online and face-to-face orientation activities for new members, ensuring they are able to understand how to make the most of their membership, and begin to make connections of value within the Alliance
? Coordination of the member journey (orientation, first year accompaniment, transition to full and 5 year review), including supporting focal points and tracking members progress through the member journey. Providing accompaniment to individual new member organisations (allocated within the Alliance Programme team) in their first year of membership, supporting them through the orientation phase, early participation activities, transition to full member status and each year thenceforth, their annual review call
? Coordinating other aspects of the member journey, such as annual reviews, and overseeing the annual completion of the member strengths and member participation and interests survey, supporting members as required and ensuring the findings of the survey are made available for the use of members, Secretariat and Board
? Identifying potential links between members and facilitating those connections Membership Engagement and Communications
? Curating and editing content for regular member mailings and communications in different languages and with integrated content from the digital Community Platform - Changemakers for Children;
? Encouraging members to provide updates on their work and forthcoming events that may have broader interest to the Alliance
? Developing and maintaining the Family terminology glossaries, in English as well as other languages
? Contributing to external communications initiatives and activities, working closely with the Fundraising and Communications team to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach across the Alliance, that avoids duplication and enables a strong information flow
? Actively maintaining AgileCase, Family’s database, with regard to member communication activities and relevant aspects of the member journey.
? Supporting member engagement team colleagues with identification of audiences, PR and communication activities, including the Community Platform, to ensure engagement with members and stakeholders (wider network)
Knowledge Management
? Support the Knowledge Management Coordinator to implement the Knowledge Management strategy, and when necessary the development of new knowledge management products;
? Developing Family’s podcast, Conversations on Care, including:
? Coordination and curation of content to draft scripts for podcast episodes
? Working with relevant Secretariat staff and members to identify content
? Inputting into thematic planning of knowledge management products
? Developing Practitioner Guidance Papers (PGPs) , including:
? Working with relevant Secretariat and members to identify content for PGPs;
? Writing the PGPs with input from members and thematic leads;
? Coordinating design, proofreading, translation and dissemination of the PGPs
? Supporting the ‘How we care’ initiative , including:
? Working with the Knowledge Management Coordinator to identify members to engage in the HWC series
? Supporting the curation of content from members
? Supporting the development of key knowledge management products for the HWC series (e.g. animated videos, briefing papers, online events, etc.)
? Supporting the dissemination and development of external comms for the HWC series
? Working with the Knowledge Management Coordinator to plan, coordinate and deliver both internal and externally-facing online events and workshops, engaging relevant Secretariat colleagues
? Coordinating and delivering communications for internal and external online events throughout the year, supporting members and the Secretariat to showcase work to a wider audience and to exchange learning across the Alliance and wider sector
? Supporting Monitoring & Evaluation processes for the knowledge management portfolio.
Other responsibilities
? Acting as a focal point for allocated members
? Providing ad hoc support to wider Member Engagement team (including scoping)
? Providing ad hoc support to the members’ Family Week and Forum
