Laboratory Technician (Vegetable Oil Extraction Plant) At Wts Energy

We are seeking to recruit a Laboratory Technician responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and control within the oil extraction plant. This role involves coordinating laboratory testing, ensuring products meet the company's quality standards, and providing recommendations to optimize product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate laboratory performance testing using samples provided by commercial agencies.
Oversee the collection and analysis of samples to determine quality compliance before products are received and stored.
Ensure products meet the established quality standards set by the company.
Prepare reports, maintain records on product quality status, and document all tests and inspections conducted.
Perform testing in accordance with the company's Quality Control System.
Review and follow up on external communications with external laboratory service providers.
Provide recommendations on procedures, standards, and equipment to maintain product quality.
Ensure proper quality processes are followed and provide training when necessary.
Conduct monthly inventory of chemicals, reagents, solutions, and other laboratory supplies and equipment.
Clean, sterilize, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and apparatus used in testing and analysis.
Assist the Quality Supervisor with operational activities when needed to meet production requirements.
Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
Analyse test data and take corrective actions to prevent non-conforming products.
Help with documentation and data control.
Ensure care and maintenance of testing equipment, including calibration.
Perform any other duties assigned by the manager.

Required Qualifications:
Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or any other relevant field.
A minimum of 5 years experience as QA or lab technician in a Oil and Gas refinery (fuel ) or Vegetable extraction plant.
Knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, terminology, and procedures.
Basic courses in firefighting and HSE (preferred).
Experience in project management, quality control, and assurance.
Proficiency in commissioning, start-up, and maintenance operations.
Strong knowledge of HSEQ general practices.
Familiarity with ISO standards, TQM, and quality systems.
Ability to comply with local/national and international standards, codes, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Strong computer skills are imperative.
Demonstrate accountability, resource optimization, and strong analytical skills.
