Laboratory Technologists – Chemical

Reports to: - Laboratory Services Manager
Minimum requirements
(i) Have a minimum period of three (3) years relevant experience;

(ii) Have a Diploma certificate in Chemical Analysis or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

(iii)Supervisory course lasting not less than two weeks;

(iv)Have proficiency in computer applications;

(v) Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and

(vi)Show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Responsibilities

(i) Prepare, sample, receive or collect, process, analyze and dispose samples in accordancewith the laid down regulations

(ii) Prepare and disseminate analytical reports of sampled products

(iii) Prepare and manage reagents and consumables in accordance with the specific test

methods

(iv) Perform routine and non-routine tests analyses using the appropriate technical equipment

and instruments

(v) Calculate test results, and log and report results using a computer

(vi) Perform quality control and calibrate equipment if necessary

(vii) Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area

(viii) Organizing and storing all laboratory inventories according to safety instructions.

(ix) Prepare and disseminate management reports, reviews and summaries

(x) Manage laboratory inventory system including ordering and maintaining stocks and resources .

Job Requirements
Required education
: Diploma, Associate's degree

Required relevant work experience
: 3 years

Required languages:
English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
