Basic job summary:
Clinical Nutritionist is responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs and developing personalized nutrition plans to promote health and manage medical conditions. This role involves working collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide evidence-based nutrition guidance and education.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, including dietary history, health status, and laboratory results.
Develop individualized nutrition care plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.
Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families regarding dietary modifications, meal planning, and lifestyle changes.
Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting nutrition plans as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
Stay informed about current research and best practices in clinical nutrition, applying evidence-based guidelines in practice.
Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Participate in community outreach and educational programs to promote awareness of nutrition and health
Minimum Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Experience:
At least 3 years of full-time practice as a clinical nutritionist in a busy hospital environment.
