Job Title: Logistics Coordinator JD. Location: Nairobi. Brief on Client Our client is one of the largest Lpg transporter in East Africa.
Role Summary S/He will play a crucial role in Supervising the daily monitoring of trucks movement and performance in terms of orders from the point of loading up to the final destination without deviations.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and implement profit improvement plans such as identification of opportunities for expanding transport operations which are in compliance with all contractual regulations, laws and policies
• Manage all activities of the staff in relation to efficient loading/offloading, routing and tracking to ensure smooth running of the department operations at all times.
• Supervising the daily monitoring of trucks movement and performance in terms of orders from the point of loading up to the final destination without deviations.
• To ensure maximum utilization of truck and adherence to DOT schedule, Quality, quantity and transport costs.
• Ensure that all journey plans and pre delivery checklists are reviewed by journey planners and logistics supervisors.
• Prepare performance trends (breakdowns, sales, volumes etc.) and compile monthly customer service, PI's Kilometers, Volumes, transit losses as per customer requirements.
• Combine weekly/monthly performance report for all accounts
• To follow up with the department staff to ensure that all delivery documents are submitted accordingly for customer billing on time.
• Report on all transit losses, investigate their root causes and report on action taken.
• Ensure renewals of EPRA (for trucks) and KEHNA license and resolve all issues related to weighbridge concerns.
• Follow up on truck calibrations to closure.
• Take appropriate action immediately for the dysfunctional OBC and cameras.
• Ensure installation of tracking devices (IVMS, OBC, Cameras and ECTS Seals) on all identified trucks and ensure the devices are properly functional at all times.
• Follow up with maintenance team and give truck status report with regards to breakdowns to customers/Logistics team.
• Action on all adverse reports that affect customer satisfaction.
• Keep data, log and inventory for all traffic offenses during RT operations.
• Record all public complaints and axle load concerns.
• Coordinate close outs (Safe parking reports) for managing compliance to drivers& parking after duty hours as per JMPs protocols In liaison with the Safety department, conduct investigations to determine causes of transport accidents and improve safety procedures.
• Prepare Monthly QHSE monthly report.
• Carry out surprise checks on the road during deliveries
• Be part of risk assessment in RT quality assurance and audit processes
• Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the transport operations and provide weekly and monthly reports to the management
• Responsible for coaching, training, evaluation and managing the performance of transport department team.
• Any other tasks as may be delegated.
KEY REQUIREMENTS • At least 3 years proven experience as a Logistic/Transport coordinator.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
