M-Pesa Africa – Digital Product Manager

Role DescriptionM-Pesa, is a pioneering fintech business and global market leader in mobile money. From starting in 2007 as a convenient means by which the unbanked and underbanked can make digital payments, M-Pesa has now grown to offer (40 million active customers financial services, enterprise, merchant, and retail solutions. We are proud of our work in enabling the digital economy in our markets, and in driving financial inclusion.The Commercial Team works with the M-Pesa leadership across our 7 OpCos to co-create the product strategy, drive thought leadership, design new products, and features, set commercial priorities with the engineering teams, and lead business development for strategic multi-country partnership opportunities.We are looking for a Digital Product Manager to help us build and scale the Largest number one Fintech Platform and Digital Ecosystem in Africa with our talented product team.Over the last 12 months, our product team has built apps across 5 markets and is aiming to launch more to our 47million M-Pesa customers.QUALIFICATIONS Apply if you have:Bachelor’s degree required, a Master’s degree in a related field preferredOver 3 years of professional experience in Digital Product development and commercialisation of new and existing products in an agile environmentDemonstrated experience delivering a Digital app and involvement in continuous improvement of the AppLed squads that deal with ambiguity every day from development to user experience designDemonstrated commercial acumen and research capabilitiesExperience negotiating commercial agreements with 3rd partiesAbility to engage and influence C-suite executivesUnderstanding of financial services/ mobile regulatory environment across AfricaWe are happy if you have:Prior experience in banking, payments, finance, or customer-facing productsExpertise in designing digital user experiencesAs an experienced professional in Digital Product Management you’ll be:Work autonomously through the product backlog while making sure that features get delivered quickly and efficiently, following the SAFe Agile methodologyTake a significant user need, or pain-point and figuring what the product might beCollaborate with teams across M-Pesa to align plans, unblock development, and communicate changes with customersTrack and monitoring your features’ performance and functionality after launch to iterate and improve on themCo-develop launch and go to market plans with local teams to drive uptake and engagementDrive commercial rationalisation of roadmap, features and utilising partnerships through influencing and negotiationCoordinate across complex dependencies to go from idea to successful launchDevelop the product roadmap, incorporating research to create a transformative product
