Mrv Project Assistant

Under the direct supervision of the Project Officer NDC, the UN Volunteer MRV Project Assistant will be required to carry out the following tasks;

Responsibilities

Providing support to some of the transparency frameworks for climate change reporting, including the Climate Action Impact Tool (CAIT), the Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) framework, as well as other digital tools and systems that are being developed in support of Kenya’s NDC implementation.Providing technical assistance to finalize the development of the national MRV system specifically strengthening the institutional arrangements within the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and other relevant ministries, departments and agencies.

Liaising with the ICT Unit of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to support the maintenance of the National MRV system through, regular network troubleshooting, updating, data uploads, and manipulation, extraction of key analytics, informatics and data to inform Kenya’s reporting to the UNFCCC;

Spearheading regular capacity building of key government staff on the CAIT, MRV, as well as any other key digital tools and systems that are geared to support Kenya’s transparency and reporting frameworks;

Supporting sensitization and training on the MRV and CAIT as an-inhouse resource person in national workshops and seminars;

Providing technical and analytical inputs to support project output and outcome delivery by compiling research case studies, and other illustrative materials

: Post-graduate education

Required relevant work experience
: 2 years
