Education
Applicants to IOM internships must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: a) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent in media studies, marketing, business administration, communication or any other relevant field); or b) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher in media studies, marketing, business administration, communication or any other relevant field); or c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in a) or b) above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.
Experience
? Minimum of Six (6) months of experience in videography and photography.
? Prior work experience with a creative or ad agency.
? Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suits, particularly, Adobe Premiere, After effects, Lightroom and Photoshop.
? Excellent drafting and communication skills in English is essential.
? Team-work oriented, capacity to work independently; personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, experience in working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels
? Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
? Prior experience in international humanitarian organizations, non-government organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
? Knowledge of Adobe illustrator and InDesign is an advantage.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in the production and editing of audiovisual materials including videos, promotional materials.
2. Regularly create photo stories and provide editorial support to the supervisor and unit head.
3. Create and edit short video stories in close coordination with relevant colleagues from the field office, country office, regional office and HQ.
4. Shortlist specific photos and videos for Donor Reporting, Presentations and Digital Media Platforms with appropriate resolution and aspect ratios on a regular basis.
5. Ensure all digital images and videos contain complete caption information in “file info” and in separate word doc. Caption information should consist of: date, place and brief description of the situation
6. Regularly maintain and update separate photo and video banks for raw and edited photos.
7. Adhere to IOM branding guidelines, publication guidelines and photography and videography standards and principles.
8. Undertake travel duties as and when required.
