About the role
The objective of this role is to ensure the quality, control and accuracy of the database & provide an effective and accessible support and communication channel for the artists. Your role will be critical in achieving an overall Music team objective of creating Africa’s Largest Catalogue of music and audio content.
Mdundo has developed “Mdundo for Brands” as a platform to attract and engage with Africa’s biggest agencies and advertisers. The platform is highly data driven and our aim is to serve personal and highly influential advertisements to our audience.
Mdundo’s commercial focus is on Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria and Ghana and our solutions are targeting the top advertisers and agencies in each country. Our main product is the “Mdundo Audio Ads” which is an audio advertisement embedded in front of all songs downloaded from Mdundo.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage existing procedures/ systems to enhance scalability and performance of existing database
Assist with the preparation of both internal and external reporting and communication
Preparing and sorting appropriate documentation for data entry and content uploads
Uploading of content and entering data into database software and checking to ensure the accuracy of the data that has been inputted
Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete data
Reporting to the Sr. Music Manager, Support.
Requirements:
High computer literacy and familiarity with various computer programs such as MS Excel (formal computer training may be advantageous in progressing in this career)
Strong attention to detail & accuracy
Knowledge of grammar and punctuation
Ability to work to time constraints
Strong analytical and organisational skills.
Proficiency in English and Kiswahili (Other languages like French, Portuguese would be advantageous)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
At least 1 year experience in database management
Passion for African music and the music industry.
