The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the manufacturing facility to ensure production targets are met efficiently, safely, and within budget.
This role bridges the gap between executive strategy and floor-level execution, focusing on process optimization and resource management.
Key Responsibilities
•Production Planning & Execution: Coordinate production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products.
Monitor workflow and adjust resources to overcome bottlenecks.
•Process Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management (TQM) methodologies to reduce waste and improve yield.
•Quality Assurance: Ensure all manufactured goods meet industry standards and customer specifications.
Oversee regular audits and compliance checks.
•Supply Chain & Inventory: Manage relationships with vendors and oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to minimize carrying costs.
•Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage the operational budget.
Identify opportunities for cost savings in labor, materials, and overhead.
•Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE): Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing OSHA standards and promoting a culture of safety among staff.
•Team Leadership: Hire, train, and mentor department supervisors and floor staff.
Conduct performance reviews and foster a collaborative work environment.
Required Qualifications
•Education: Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
An MBA or professional certification is a plus.
•Experience: 10 years of management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
•Technical Skills: advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
•Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead diverse teams under pressure.
Working Conditions
•This role involves a mix of office-based administrative work and significant time spent on the production floor.
•May require occasional shift work or on-call availability to handle equipment failures or urgent production deadlines.
