Optica is looking to set up 10-12 optical retail stores across East Africa. We are searching for a qualified and experienced individual for the role of Operations and Retail Manager. THE QUALIFIED CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS: 5 years of multi-unit retail management experienceExperience with or strong understanding of managing an optical retail chain is desirable4 year college degree or equivalent experienceStrong organizational skillsStrong influencing and negotiating skillsTeam building and management skillsStrong communicator and listenerGood English skillsSales skills and customer satisfaction orientedAbility to manage time under aggressive deadlinesRESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Accomplishes retail objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and scheduling high caliber store managers, optometrists, sales people, back office staff, communicating job expectations and enforcing policies and proceduresAchieving goals by implementing store production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. Resolving operational problems and identifies regional retail trendsAccomplishes revenue goals by driving sales and identifying revenue opportunitiesEnsure all visual merchandising is implemented and in place at all stores to include current promoting and advertisingSet up and ensure back office operations of warehouses, lab, quality, packaging, supply chain are working as efficiently as possible.Ensure stock levels maintained for main warehouse and branchesBuilding Business Relationships with Corporates and Insurance companies Keep abreast of competitor activity in the territory and keep appropriate Corporate Office personnel advised. Ensure information is maintained and up to date in direct report storesAnalyzes store financial data and makes recommendations regarding steps which can be implemented on the retail side of the business to improve profitability.Assists in new location selection, planning, and opening requirementsEnsures that all excellent customer service practices are in place and that complaints are responded to quickly and corrective action implemented. Ensure that orders are kept at priority and ensure quality meet standards Leads cross-functional teams including members from key accounts, marketing, supply chain, lab operations, and financeKeeps a minimum level of stocks in an organized manner for sales to take place without delays, and keep track so reordering can take place in a timely, organized manner.Meeting and exceeding the KPI goals and objectivesOther duties as directed by Management
