Payables Accountant

They will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. Proper record keeping is a large part of the accountant’s day-to-day work. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial conditionResponsibilitiesKeeping track of all payments and expenditure incurred by Twiga Foods, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.Paying vendors, and accounting for withholding tax where applicable, by scheduling pay rota and ensuring payment is processed for outstanding amountsManaging queries and maintaining a good rapport with vendors.Use of the ERP Next system and engage with the technical team as and when requiredMaintain a serialized filing system for all manual and electronic records of accounts, including a system of document archiving and destruction in line with General Data Protection RegulationsRequirementsA Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.Professional qualification: CPA or ACCAAccuracy and have an eye for detail.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Strong leadership qualities.In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.Ability to work as part of a team.Proficiency in accounting software.Strong analytical skills.
