Our client, a leading FMCG /Manufacturing Group is looking for the following Professionals, to join their Maintenance Team
Role: Plant Maintenance Managers (2 Positions)
Location: Outskirts of Nairobi.
Industry: FMCG
Reporting to: Production Manager / General manager
Reportees under: Handling the entire Group Maintenance and with Mechanical Foreman, Mechanical Fitters, Welders, Machinists, Boiler Operators reporting to him / her.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant option).
Skills: Good leadership skills, effective technical, problem solving and interpersonal skills. He/she should have good time management skills as well and should possess ability to work under pressure.
Age: Between 35-40 years
Experience: Minimum of 10-15+ years working in Plant Maintenance, preferably in an FMCG Automated environment, at least 5 years should have worked in leadership role.

**JOB DETAILS, ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB PURPOSE**
• Responsible for the management and maintenance of existing Group’s Mechanical Infrastructure.
• Ensure that equipment and machinery are running to the optimum rated capacity.
• Ensure the maintenance team has the adequate resources to plan, carry out and complete the activities in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
• Maintain and manage utility services such as boilers, compressors, boreholes and weighbridges.
• Improve the overall process of mechanical design of equipment and execution on the equipment to meet performance goals including verification and validation during development, this comprises of mechanical design (including but not limited to equipment modification), execution and quality of workmanship.
MAIN DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work hand in hand with the current Maintenance Manager and eventually take over the responsibility.
• Plan and schedule all activities along with meeting required statutory requirements while supporting other related departments with an objective to meet the Company’s goals.
• Team collaboration across multiple cross-functional areas. Work hand in hand with Process Owners and other service teams (i.e. Process, Electrical, Civil, etc) to develop or improve processes with an aim of providing a better product, increase in production, energy efficiency as well as operator friendly operation in a cost effective manner.
• Manage the maintenance team, assign duties and ensure that these duties have been carried out satisfactorily. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the day to day activities of the maintenance team.
• Parts and supply ordering and inventory management. Evaluate parts and spare parts requirement and ensure day to day general requirements and critical spares are readily available.
• Negotiate the best price and payment terms in all your purchasing responsibility.
• Plan and carry out Preventive and Scheduled Maintenance of the equipment.
• Keep planned and unplanned downtime to a minimum. Ensure maximum uptime for the equipment (maximum availability).
• Manage engineering workshop related jobs and maintain its records.
• Ensure that history cards are maintained for all the services done on all equipment and other records are maintained as required.
• Evaluate and review all the records of maintenance and condition checks to incorporate efficiency, preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Trouble shoot problems on machines and come up with permanent solutions.
• Improve the mechanical process of plant and equipment to meet company quality goals.
• Creation and maintenance of design documentation (mechanical BOM, drawings, instruction etc)
• Keep updated with the latest equipment, technologies and maintenance methods including green initiatives and environmentally friendly equipment optimization.
• When required, work as project manager in equipment projects.
• Support with technical input and feasibility study for new project opportunities.
• Good understanding of the ISO Quality Management System and Kaizen, implement processes and maintain all records.
• Perform other related duties as required by the Management.
