Job Description/Requirements
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services including vehicles through established procurement processes and ensure enhancement of the purchase process, development of positive relationships with internal customers & suppliers. The role will also entail monitoring & controlling expenditure as well as ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. He/shemusthave at least3 years’experience working in the same position in Automotive/ Manufacturing/Production/Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process all correspondence or requisitions in and out of the procurement unit including checking tender documents and analysis and issuance of local purchase orders.
• Undertake price or cost analysis before committing purchases and negotiating for better contractual terms of supply.
• Resolve issues/problems related to delivered goods, including discrepancies between purchase orders and items/quantities shipped or received, demurrages.
• Carry out the evaluation on requirements from users before committing purchases and ensuring that services are provided within the Service Level Agreement.
• Liaise with users from time to time to ensure efficient flow of services and handling supplier related disputes on matters of poor quality, short delivery, late delivery, and payment.
• Monitor purchases of capital or recurrent expenditure against budget and usage of goods and services within the company to ensure minimal expenditure.
• Monitor changes in the supply market, carry out market research on product development and better sources of supply and develop proposals for improved purchasing procedures.
• Track deliveries and make sure the company receives exactly what was ordered from the suppliers.
• Answer supplier and customer inquiries about order changes and cancellation and check requisition orders for accuracy.
• Implement cost saving measures as per category target to support the business financial objectives.
• Support finance on timely payment of suppliers by availing all related documents, processes, and system closure.
• Process Purchase Order (PO) within approved Turn Around Time (TAT)
• Raise POs for approved PRs. Delivery of hard copies of PRs for signoff by pertinent HODs.
• Physically check shipments to ensure the appropriate items were delivered.
Qualifications:
•Musthave a degree in procurement & Supply Chain Management or a CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
•Musthave a minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.
•Musthave excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
•Musthave a high level of integrity with excellent communication.
• Good understanding of imports & Export process documentation.
• Hands on experience with ERP Systems-Preferably Microsoft NAV.
•Mustbe a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
Monthly Gross Salary:Ksh. 80,000 – 110,000 /= (Approx. (800 – 1,100 USD) depending on individual skills and experience.
