With our partners, we seek to close the yield gap, eradicate global hunger, safeguard the soil on which our lives depend, and generate economic resilience for farming households and the countries in which they live.      IFDC is currently seeking passionate individuals to join its team, as the organization continues to expand its impact and work towards creating positive changes in agriculture and sustainable soil management across the world.     Responsibilities   Procurement   1.     Evaluating and locating resources that meet project requirements on a cost-effective basis by adhering to the established procurement policy and procedures (e.g., qualifying vendors, reviewing products) 2.     Negotiating vendor proposals and maintaining contact with vendors to arrange logistics of all inbound and outbound goods and services (e.g., placing orders for goods and services, resolving billing discrepancies, correcting orders, mode of transportation, customs, agriculture inspectors) 3.     Assist in storing and organizing inventory items, maintaining any inventory files, managing stock levels, 4.     Assist in conducting physical inventory counts, issuing inventory with support from the Admin Officer, 5.     Arranging for inbound/outbound logistics of goods on a country-wide basis (e.g., mode of transportation, customs, etc.) 6.     Performing a variety of other related minor duties as required (e.g., preparing cost estimates, selling scrap materials, assisting in special projects) 7.     Knowledge of procurement and logistics policies and procedures to meet project demands timely and prepare proper records 8.     Ability to interview, evaluate, and screen vendors and suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to secure optimal products and services for the best price 9.     Ability to communicate effectively with IFDC personnel and external vendors to answer questions and resolve any discrepancies 10. Ability to examine data to detect omissions, errors, and abnormalities with purchasing items and quotes     NetSuite   1.     Ensure that all items requested to be purchased on fully approved in the NetSuite system with a complete Purchase Request form. 2.    Ensure that all procurement transactions are done through NetSuite.   Training   1.     Provides coaching on proper procedures for staff regarding purchase requests. 2.     Ensure the staff in the country understand and observe IFDC Procurement Manual; 3.     Conduct induction session for newly recruited staff on procurement-related procedures. 4.     Support the projects in any purchasing needs that arise; 5.     Ensure the integrity of procurement procedures of the office by enforcing appropriate internal controls;   Reporting and Work Relationships   Procurement Officer will be a national position and report to the Country Director Kenya Office, his/her designee.   Location   Nairobi, Kenya.   Benefits   I FDC's benefits include annual and sick leave, health and group life insurance coverage, a 13th-month salary, social security and pension contribution in compliance with local laws and end-of-contract benefits.   Salary Clause   The salary grade for this position is BG 7. The proposed starting salary for the above position is   KES 167,800.00 gross per month. The determination of new employee salaries takes into account various factors. Required Skills Required Experience 1.     A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. 2.     A minimum of 7 years of experience in a procurement or similar role, 3.     In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing guidelines. 4.     Outstanding troubleshooting and time management skills. 5.     Strong attention to detail. 6.     Excellent written and verbal communication skills 7.     Strong computer skills with experience in MS Office software, Procurement software experience is desirable.
