Role Summary The Procurement Officer will be responsible for supporting the sourcing, evaluation, and procurement of goods, works, and services in line with company policies and industry best practices.
The role involves close collaboration with internal teams majorly Construction Delivery, to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and services that support project execution, cost efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities Procurement Operations Support end-to-end procurement activities, including tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract administration.
Assist in developing and maintaining procurement plans aligned with project timelines and budgets.
Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to avoid operational delays.
Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and other procurement documentation.
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Supplier Contract Management Identify, prequalify, and maintain an updated database of vendors and service providers.
Support negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and delivery standards.
Assist in managing contract variations, claims, and closeouts in collaboration with relevant teams.
Governance Compliance Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Promote transparent, ethical, and auditable procurement practices.
Track and report procurement performance metrics, including cost savings and supplier compliance.
Requirements Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Construction project management experience is an added advantage.
Professional certification (CIPS, CPSP, KISM, or equivalent) preferred.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in procurement within the infrastructure or construction industry.
Good understanding of contract management, supplier evaluation, and supply chain processes.
Experience supporting procurement for large-scale projects is an advantage.
Proven track record in sourcing and managing suppliers for large-scale civil and infrastructure works (e.g., roads, bridges, drainage, utilities, buildings).
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with construction and engineering teams on project-based procurement.
Strong understanding of construction materials, heavy equipment, and technical specifications used in infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in ERP or procurement management systems.
(SAP, SAGE, NAVISION, ORACLE) and MS Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and best practices.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, bills of quantities, and engineering specifications.
Skilled in tendering, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
Soft Skills Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
High integrity, attention to detail, and results-oriented mindset.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, especially with technical and site-based teams.
